E-Poster Submission

Electronic posters of original research papers done by PDS members/residents/conference attendees will be displayed for viewing in widescreens during the PDS 49th Annual Convention.

Submission of abstracts will be done through the official website of the PDS 49th Annual Convention after successful registration for the meeting has been made.

The Research Committee will screen the abstracts for eligibility for inclusion in exhibit. Once accepted, authors will receive a letter of acceptance through their email.

1. OBJECTIVE

   To promote dissemination of original research papers done by PDS members and residents.

2. ELIGIBILITY OF ENTRIES
   1. Any original research by a PDS resident or member may be submitted, such as:
      1. Experimental study
      2. Non-experimental study
      3. Case report/case series
   2. Experimental studies, and non-experimental studies should have been approved by an Institutional Review Board (IRB).
   3. Case reports and case series must have obtained informed consent from the patients if patient’s photographs and information are not de-identified.
   4. The following manuscripts are eligible:
      1. Manuscripts that were submitted but did not qualify for the current year’s Residents’ Research Forum oral presentation;
      2. Manuscripts that have been presented in any national or international scientific meeting or conference.
   5. Industry-sponsored or -initiated papers remain eligible, provided the primary author is a PDS resident or member, and the sponsorship/commercial support is disclosed.
   6. The following are not eligible for the e-Poster Exhibit:
      1. Manuscripts that have been published in any medical journal
3. REQUIREMENTS FOR SUBMISSION
   1. The following are the required documents for electronic submission:
      1. Patient’s duly accomplished informed consent for case reports / case series
      2. Copy of IRB approval letter/s for experimental / non-experimental studies
      3. E-Poster of the manuscript (in PDF format)
   2. Submission of the abstract indicates that all authors agree to the content of the paper, and to the submission of the e-posters.
   3. The Research Committee reserves the right to reassign any submission to another category if they determine it is more applicable to the content of the abstract.
   4. All accepted submissions will be included in the e-book of Abstracts.

REMINDER: The deadline for submission will be on Oct. 1, 2026.

4. PREPARATION FOR E-POSTER SUBMISSION
   1. The title should be concise and indicative of the content of the paper. It should not exceed 30 words, should not contain abbreviations, and only the first letter of the first word and proper nouns are capitalized.
   2. Categories:

   3. The abstract must be written in English, structured, and limited to 250 words. It should emphasize new and important aspects of the study or observations, as well as accurately reflect the content of the article.

      For experimental and non-experimental studies, the abstract should be structured and organized as follows:

      1. Background: What is the major problem that prompted the study?
      2. Objective/s: What is the purpose of the study?
      3. Methods: How was the study done?
      4. Results: What are the most important findings?
      5. Conclusion: What is the single most important conclusion?

      For case reports, the abstract should be structured and organized as follows:

      1. Introduction: Why is your case unique? Why can your findings be associated with a particular intervention?
      2. Case Report: What are the patient’s main concerns and important clinical findings?
      3. Discussion: Explain the rationale for reporting your case. What is your most important conclusion?
   4. Keywords:

      Provide 3-5 keywords or brief phrases that will assist the indexers in cross-indexing your article and that may be published with the abstract.

   5. Conflict of Interest:

      Potential study interpretation conflicts may include, but are not limited to, the following:

      • Some or all of the research planning and conduct were carried out by the pharmaceutical company / commercial organization with a vested interest in the product being studied.
      • Some or all of the data that were used in the study were provided by a pharmaceutical company / organization with a vested interest in the product being studied.
      • Some or all of the data analysis and results interpretation was conducted by a pharmaceutical company / organization with a vested interest in the product being studied.
   6. Commercial Funding:

      Financial competing interests may include, but are not limited to, the following:

      • Receiving reimbursements, fees, funding, or salary from a pharmaceutical company / commercial organization that may in any way gain or lose financially from the publication of the article.
      • Ownership by the author or a first-degree relative or a company that sells a product related to the subject matter of the manuscript.
   7. Trade names for drugs, devices and/or instrumentation should not be used. Any medications, substances or devices should be identified by their scientific or generic name only.
5. E-POSTER PREPARATION

   2. Use background and text colors which provide a high level of contrast.
   3. The e-poster should include the poster title, names of authors, disclosure of commercial support, if any, and major references only (maximum of 5).
   4. The e-poster should have the following headings:

      Case Reports: Abstract, Introduction, Case Report, Discussion, References

      Non-experimental and experimental studies: Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, References

   5. Conflicts of interest and commercial funding should be disclosed, or stated as none.
   6. Description, explanations, or text below figures should be italicized and the font size smaller than the font size of the body of the poster.
   7. Patient’s photographs and personal information should be de-identified unless proper written informed consent has been obtained.
   8. The source of photographs, tables, and illustrations must be declared if they are not the property of the presenter.
   9. Trade names for drugs, devices and/or instrumentation including lasers should appear only once.
